Salathin: Journal of Islamic Political Studies is an academic journal dedicated to the study of Islamic political thought and practice in historical, conceptual, and contemporary contexts. The journal provides a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore the intersection of Islam, politics, law, and society from multidisciplinary perspectives. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
-
Islamic Political Thought — concepts of authority, justice, governance, and leadership in classical and modern Islamic traditions.
-
Islam and Democracy — the interaction between Islamic values and democratic systems, and Muslim participation in political processes.
-
Islamic Law and Governance — studies on siyasah shar‘iyyah, legal reform, and policy-making informed by Islamic principles.
-
Islamic Movements and Political Parties — analysis of political organizations, movements, and Islamic activism on local and global levels.
-
Religion and the State — models of state-religion relations in Muslim societies and their implications for governance.
-
Global Islamic Politics — issues of human rights, social justice, diplomacy, and peace in the Muslim world.
-
Islam and Local Politics in Southeast Asia — the political role of ulama, Islamic institutions, and organizations in the Indonesian and regional contexts.
The journal welcomes empirical research, theoretical studies, and critical reviews that contribute to the advancement of Islamic political studies.
